But really, a lot of people feel the same way. Its just seems sad that they feel the need to clarify ("I watch anime, but not all the sex and violence") when they don't do the same for, say, American movies, which are just as multi-genred as anime. *coughs* Quickly though, this is becoming a rant which doesn't have a place on this list, so I shall stop here. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

Trigun, Fushigi Yuugi, Gensoumaden Saiyuki, Excel Saga, Kodomo no Omocha, Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyou, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Golden Boy, Sekaiden Houshin Engi, Slayers, Record of Lodoss War (OAV and tv series), Tenkuu no Escaflowne and Please Save My Earth.
I'm really bad at choosing one favorite - I like all these for different reasons. ^_^;
*sighs* And anime really is a horrid addiction. My library of tapes is numbering at over 100 now and my manga is slowly catching up. Art books, CDs, cards, posters... *shakes her head* Its bad.

I thought "Ninja Scroll" was beautiful, BAMF! I think "Lain" looks pretty interesting, but I haven't seen it.
Jyuu-chan, you make a really good point about clarifying why one watches anime. In fact, I wrote in my paper how there are many different types of anime and manga, and not all of it contains gratuitous violence and sex. I'm just not into violence or sex like that, so I didn't want to come across as advocating it, you know? At any rate, I feel the same about American movies, TV, comics, etc. I don't read comics to see Wolvie slice and dice anyone; I read it because I really like the characters. Okay enough of that! (Hope I didn't offend you though, Jyuu-chan; it would never be my intent!)
I didn't get a chance to go through my comics last night to list some of my faves (I spent the night cleaning out our attic!), but I'll try to do it soon!

Let's see, I also got stickers, 3 wall scrolls, (One group shot, one of Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon, and one of Sailor Saturn.), a c.d.(all the music is in chimes), some books, and a art book of concept drawings(what they looked like in the beginning.) for all 5 seasons and 2 of the movies. I'm still looking for art books.

Shadycat, way back in the thread you said that you wrote a paper about the aesthetics of Manga and Anime. I'd like to read it because my teachers need convincing.
I especially need ammo against my ceramics instructor. He seems to think that it's not art unless it's spontaneous. (To me, his stuff just looks sloppy and badly planned) I really need some help because I'm going into advanced ceramics next quarter, and I'll definitely have him again.

I'm not really a big anime fan like everyone else here but that might be because I can list all the animes (animes? is that right?) I've seen on one hand... and they are Dragonball Z, Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon and Escaflowne. And Cardcapters, but even though it looks like anime to me, according to Jezie it isn't so it doesn't count. I'm so deprived.
